a little overboard.

Ok, truth, we all know that you feel the right to drive your SUV. I believe that some people should have them, if they need them. the target of this project is not the people who use SUVs for what they orriginally were designed for. the target are the people who have SUVs to "negotiate the rough roads" of say, Chicago. Clearly this isn't you. The reason SUVs are the target is very similar to why Marlboro cigaretts might be the target of an anti-smoking movement. yes, there are many other cigarets, and yes there are many other things that cause health risks. But should the anti-smoking groupwho is trying to make producers and consumers of cigaretts take on all substances that pose healthrisks and all of the cigarett companies at one time? SUVs happen to be where this particular movement has started, minivans might be next... who knows. But the point is this... people's right to own an SUV is not what is being protested, the anti-SUV campaign is simply raising awareness about issues dealing with large inefficiant vehicals. I personally work on several dozen projects having to do with various aspects of society, several of the people whom you are so furious with do as well. there is no possible way that anyone can include every aspect of an issue and still have the energy and resources to reach a sizeable portion of the population. i'm sorry that your vehical of choice was choosen, but there are good reasons for it. perhaps minivans would have been a good candidate also, and if you feel so strongly about that then perhaps you should do something about minivan drivers. This is not an attack on you personally, this is an attempt to bring awareness to all drivers, regardless of their vehical preference... because, just like you, the people who drive minivans will be able to put together that they are right up ther with SUVs. tell me, truth, where do you draw the line about SUVs. do you feel that it would be better for someone to drive a Toyoto 4x4, or a Lincoln Navagator? Do you see how one is functional and the other is not? Do you see the difference between a Hummer and king cab Toyota takoma with a shell on the back? I know that you can see this. I'm sorry that you are having a hard time grasping the real meaning behind the SUV demonstrations. By saying that you will now be more likly to promote SUVs to your friends really only implies that you are an irrational individual. thanks.

: will make me encourage another friend to buy an SUV!

: Think of something more productive to do with your lives, people! You are all hypocrites with OCD! Otherwise you would be picking on minivans and pickup trucks and all the other big, dangerous, gas-guzzlers out there.

: If people enjoy their SUVs for WHATEVER reason, who are you to tell them what they need and don't need? Again, if you are going to resort to the fuel economy argument, I will counter with the minivans and pickup trucks which make up a HUGE %age of the market, which are hogging gas, rolling over, and causing harm to passengers of smaller vehicles. It would be nice if you hypocrites could form logical arguments, but your bias (and apparently, your OCD) is so strong that you are unable to do so. How very sad.
